A little about me: I've been photographing allegedly haunted places and abandoned houses, old buildings, empty businesses, rusty cars, places of rural decay, etc, since April 2009 when my husband first got me into it. I would go and explore places that were supposed to be haunted and would take note as to where they were but that was it. He told me I should take pictures so that's what I started doing. I developed an avid interest in all things haunted and abandoned after I was in a major three car accident and finally started taking pictures of them. I started with mostly places in upper Greenville County SC and a few around Western North Carolina, Hendersonville and Edneyville NC but didn't find near as many in NC as SC so I stuck to that. Over time I started exploring many more places in SC eventually leading into Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia(in fact, VA is one of my favorite places to visit) and Kentucky. When I get to I go to Michigan(I so love the Great Lakes) In fact, I lived there for awhile. Wilmington NC is another favorite place to visit.
I'm from Florida originally so I have to include FL on that list. My favorite place there is the Everglades.
Some of the best supposedly haunted(creepy) places to visit in SC are the Spartanburg Tan Yards, the site of the old TB Hospital, the old buncombe baby cemetery(Hickory Point baby graveyard) in Greenville SC, Hester's Store in Easley SC(I've heard it's going to be torn down), Campbell's Covered Bridge, New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery(been there a number of times) and in NC the Spencer Mtn Mansion in Charlotte NC(it is completely boarded up and impossible to gain entry, Helen's Bridge in Asheville NC, Lincoln Academy in Gastonia NC(the site where Kathleen Smiley was raped, tortured and murdered and Bearwallow Mountain in Hendersonville NC. Along the way, I've found a few abandoned houses that were quite eerie and foreboding.
My interest in psychics, the afterlife, witchcraft, ghosts, the paranormal, etc., became much more pronounced after my second car accident. Over time my love of photography has led into taking pictures of nature, vintage items, classic cars, old house interiors(when I can trespass safely) and almost anything I think will take a good photograph,
I'm a wife, amateur photographer, urban explorer and legendhunter. By that I mean I hunt legends, not ghosts. I'm also an entrepreneur, property manager(and renovation manager), PT truck driver and travel frequently with my job. When I get the time I sell on auction sites as well. Blogging, photography and writing are my passions. Oh yeah and movies. I love movies and reading when I can.

I also come from a long line of spiritists dating back many generations. I am christian and believe in the power of angels, kinetic and divine energy but also believe in the darker side. I come from celtic, irish, romanian and native american descent.

Peace and blessings be with you.......

Abandoned House SC

Visit my other blog at http://nature500.blogspot.com and my websites at http://sassygrrl32.hubpages.com and http://www.divinemystick.com.

This is a simple block house on the edge of a large cotton field in South Carolina. It had electricity at one time and the cinder brick construction makes me think mid 20th century. No roof makes me think the tin was removed to reuse somewhere else which is common. I try to imagine the simple existence the occupants must have led. Work, eat, sleep. The middle picture is the Google street view of this place in happier times, yet still abandoned. This picture was taken by someone else.

Abandoned House Brightsville SC

Visit my other blog at http://nature500.blogspot.com and my websites at http://sassygrrl32.hubpages.com and http://www.divinemystick.com.

This old farmhouse is near Brightsville, SC. It appears to be 1880-1910 or so. I think someone started to fix it up and just quit, maybe it was too far gone to repair but they don't have the heart to tear it down. Notice the side is starting to lean. The yard is well maintained but the home is derelict. Shame too, it's a nice large place with a couple of buildings in back. I imagine it was quite a place in it's day. Those days are long gone unfortunately. In the larger photo you can see the interesting window glass treatment and the third window on the side that was removed and filled in at some point. Makes me wonder why. The porch posts are certainly not the originals, they would have been better than 4x4s and I suspect they might be in the lumber on the porch. I wonder how many still nights were spend sitting on that porch talking with family and friends after a long day. This house was very nice. This was taken by someone else.

Abandoned House Bear Creek NC

Visit my other blog at http://nature500.blogspot.com and my websites at http://sassygrrl32.hubpages.com and http://www.divinemystick.com.

Here is an old log cabin I saw near Bear Creek, NC slowly becoming one with the earth.
It appears to be a real cabin too, check out the interior chinking and how the logs are all different sizes. Unknown age but looks pretty old to me. There is a 1970s era mobile home in the backyard so I assume that's when it was abandoned. A little old lady in the yard waved at me...I wonder if she grew up in this homeplace and her family bought her a fancy new trailer home when the roof began to leak.
Another clue, it doesn't face the road but exactly due east instead parallel to the road. I take it to mean the home predates the road possibly. Roads go any direction but old homes like to face east for ventilation and lighting. Another old home with no evidence of ever being electrified. No meter box or wires or antennas but I guess that stands to reason being the interior walls are also logs with mud cement chinking. Just a great place to make a picture. I'll be going back one day for better shots.
The thumbnail is another HUGE version for you to check out, just keep clicking it till it's gigantic.

Abandoned House Hamlet NC

This is a picture taken by someone else in Hamlet NC. It is clearly of an old, abandoned house. It is a shame these old houses get left to fall into disrepair.
